Sarah Katherine Herzog
Former Hawesville resident Sarah Katherine Herzog died in Louisville on December 30th from cancer and underlying health issues. Age 74, Sarah is predeceased by her parents, Karl Agustus Herzog and Cleopha Schnieder Herzog, and a younger sister, Michael Ann Herzog.
Sarah is survived by brothers Karl Von Burg Herzog(Betty) and Rob Roy Herzog(Daphne deceased wife), her sister Theresa Louise Johnson (Ron) and two nieces she considered to be her daughters, Rebecca and Runae Herzog.
Sarah graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School before getting a degree in history at University of Kentucky in Lexington. After working for a while at NSA in Hancock County she moved to Louisville and worked in accounting for Porter Paints.
Before leaving Hawesville, Sarah was active in school and church affairs. In Louisville she was a member of Saint Agnes church and a member of the choir. Her memorial service in Louisville will take place at Saint Agnes and will be followed by a memorial service at Immaculate Conception before her ashes are entered in the Herzog family plot in Hawesville.

I became friends with Sarah while singing with her in the St Agnes choir. We were both altos and thoroughly enjoy singing together. I am privileged to have met all of her wonderful family. I miss you, Sarah and will always remember you.
